Motorcycle crash slows Great Eastern H'way

AN early morning collision between a car and motorbike in Darlington left the rider injured and caused traffic delays on Great Eastern Highway.

The accident happened just after 6am at the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Bilgoman Road.

It is believed the injured motorcyclist has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

Westbound traffic was reduced to one lane as police and emergency services attended the scene. 

Diversions were put in place, however, delays are being experienced and at its worst, traffic was banked back to Hardey Road.

By 7.45am the crash site had been cleared and all lanes were open.

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time.
