SOCIAL MEDIA meme Grumpy Cat is laughing all the way to the bank after 'selling out' and appearing in a series of cat food ads.
The sourpuss, whose real name is Tartare Sauce, was signed up by United States cat food company Friskies earlier this month.
The first of the series of adverts has now hit the airwaves.
The dour-faced cat became famous after appearing in a slew of sharp-witted and cutting internet comments, mostly playing off her expression.
At a recent public appearance, fans waited in lines for up to three blocks in length for a glimpse of the curmudgeonly kitty.
Grumpy Cat will no doubt revel in the scandal of selling out to corporate interests, though it is yet to be seen if her cutting internet comments will be curtailed.
